Pelvic Floor, Pregnant and Postpartum Athlete Roadmap

Here's how it works:

Step 1: Assess and Train

Assess and Train Awareness, Range of Motion, and Strength for the Movement or Task

The first thing we need to do is find the root of the problem. Is it a strength, coordination, or timing issue? By first identifying where the deficits are we can better target our action plan.

Step 2: Teach and Train

Teach and Train Proper Bracing Techniques Relative to the Task and the Load of the Task

Free breathing, exhale on exertion, closed glottis, valsalva? When should I do what? We will teach you when to use different breathing techniques based on the volume, duration, and load of your task as well as your body's fatigue to allow you to be successful. It's important to integrate the pelvic floor through cues and breath.

Step 3: Load it!

Load it!

We need to accumulate sub-threshold volume. The pelvic floor is just like any other muscle. We need to train and load it to be able to handle heavy loads in the gym, as well as daily stressors.
